Baby walkers and push toys give a toddler support and a reason to take one more step. This collection includes wooden activity walkers from Viga PolarB and Classic World, a 2-in-1 kitchen walker, crocodile and chameleon walkers with blocks, an elephant walker that turns into a doll's pram, push toys on a stick with ducks, a hen, a penguin and a carousel, and FALK ride-on tractors that also work as walkers.
How a push walker helps
A sturdy walker lets a child pull up to standing, find balance and walk while holding on. Unlike seated walkers, a push walker lets the child set the pace and keeps their feet working naturally. Activity panels with spinning blocks, mirrors and shape sorters make the walker interesting even before the first steps.
Which type to choose
- Activity walker. A stable base with toys on the front panel – best for children who are just pulling up and starting to walk.
- Push toy on a stick. Light, with wheels that flap or turn – for confident walkers who want a companion on walks.
- Ride-on tractor walker. First pushed, later ridden – FALK tractors grow with the child.
Safe first steps
Use the walker on a flat floor, away from stairs, and stay nearby during the first attempts. Check that the walker is heavy and stable enough for your child, and that the wheels roll smoothly. Most walkers in this collection are suitable from 12 months; see each product page for details.
More toys for this age are in toys for 1–2 year olds and baby toys. Ride-on vehicles are in ride-on toys.
Frequently asked questions
When can a baby use a push walker?
Usually when the child can pull up to standing, often from around 12 months. The exact age is given on each product page.
What is the difference between a walker and a push toy?
A walker gives support for the first steps; a push toy on a stick is for children who already walk and want something to push along.
Can a walker be used on carpet?
Yes, but wheels roll more slowly on carpet. On smooth floors the walker moves faster, so stay close during first steps.
