Wooden blocks are one of the most timeless toys – simple, durable and endlessly versatile. In this collection you will find Classic World Forest World block sets with 50 and 100 pieces, lacing blocks with zoo animals, traffic signs and keys, a Viga PolarB block train and a crocodile walker with blocks, Tooky Toy stacking shape towers, colour mirror blocks, counting lacing blocks and a peg and beam board, and a Woopie Green shape sorter box with a pull-along elephant.
Why blocks never get old
With blocks a one-year-old learns to stack and knock down, a two-year-old builds a tower and a road, and a four-year-old creates whole cities. Building develops spatial thinking, balance and early maths – more, less, higher, the same – as well as patience when a tower falls and has to be built again.
Blocks by age
- From 12 months. Large blocks and lacing blocks that are easy to grasp, the block train and the crocodile walker.
- From 2 years. Stacking towers, mirror blocks for playing with colour and light, and Montessori lacing animals.
- From 3 years. Larger Forest World sets for free building and the peg and beam board for more precise constructions.
Caring for wooden toys
Wipe wooden blocks with a slightly damp cloth and let them dry naturally – never soak them in water. Store them in a box or bag, so that tidying up is quick and part of the game.
More building ideas are in building blocks and construction toys, magnetic building sets and wooden toys.
