What puzzles teach
A puzzle has a clear goal and a visible result, so children learn to stay with a task until the end. They practise recognising shapes and colours, comparing parts with the whole and turning a piece until it fits. Logic puzzles for older children add planning and spatial thinking.

How to help without solving
Show the picture first and talk about what is on it. Then give one hint at a time – “look for the corner” or “this one has a blue wheel”. Celebrate a finished puzzle together, and let your child take it apart and start again.
