The Masterkidz dog board combines fun play with learning about tooth care – the dog's mouth opens to reveal 10 teeth.

This teeth brushing learning board is made of wood and comes with toy toothpaste, a brush and floss. Children squeeze "paste" onto the brush, clean the dog's teeth and floss between them, developing fine motor skills and precision. Play is a great reason to talk about caring for your own teeth and why it matters. It works for playing alone or in pairs.

What your child develops

• Hygiene habits. Brushing becomes a game.
• Fine motor skills. Using brush and floss.
• Precision. Every tooth needs cleaning.
• Caring for others. Looking after the dog.

How to play

Brush the dog's teeth with your child and then your own. Count to 10 while you brush.

Explain why teeth need floss and let your child try it on the board.
