The Woopie woodpecker is a colourful log on wheels with worms hiding inside: pull them out, tap them back with the hammer and pull the log along.

This pull-along toy with worms combines a sorter, a pull toy and a skill game. Worms in different colours are pulled out of the log and pushed back, and the safe hammer lets toddlers tap them in like a real woodpecker. The log has wheels and a string with a teether, so your little one can pull it while crawling or walking. The toy is made of safe materials with soft parts. The log is about 22 cm long and the hammer about 13 cm.

What your child develops

• Hand-eye coordination. The worm has to be hit with the hammer.
• Manual dexterity. Worms are pulled out and pushed in precisely.
• Colours and shapes. Each worm has its own colour.
• Movement. The pull-along log encourages crawling and walking.

How to play

Show how to pull out one worm and tap it back with the hammer. Name its colour and let your toddler try.

With all worms in place, attach the string and invite your toddler to take the woodpecker for a walk.

The woodpecker is a good gift for toddlers from 18 months who are starting to walk.
