The Woopie Green wooden ice cream stand is a dream toy for little sweet-makers: your child serves ice cream in cones and on sticks and takes orders from the menu.

This wooden ice cream stand comes in soft pastels and is made entirely of wood painted with non-toxic paint. The scoops have magnets, so they click onto a cone and come off easily, making the shopkeeper's job simple. The set includes the stand, 4 ice lollies, 3 wafer cones, 6 magnetic scoops, an ice cream scoop and a menu with flavour ideas. It is easy to assemble and measures about 30 × 17 × 23 cm. Perfect for playing shop or as an addition to a play kitchen. Designed for children aged 3 and up.

What your child develops

• Manual skills. Picking up, arranging and serving scoops train the hands.
• Hand-eye coordination. Each scoop has to sit neatly on the cone.
• Imagination and creativity. Your child becomes the seller and invents flavours.
• Logical thinking. Orders are put together from the menu.
• Social skills. Playing shop teaches conversation and service.

How to play

Set up the stand and lay out the ice creams and menu. You are the customer choosing a flavour, and your child builds the cone and serves it. Then swap roles.

Add play money or a toy till so your child practises counting and giving change.
