The Woopie interactive cash register with a real calculator lets children play both shopkeeper and customer.

This toy cash register combines play with learning – children practise basic maths, handling money and social skills. It has a built-in real calculator for simple sums. The corded barcode scanner beeps and lights up like the real thing. The cash drawer opens with a button, and the card reader with sound effects makes every sale realistic. Customers choose to pay by card or coins. Included are product boxes, a bottle, banknotes and coins, a payment card and a shopping basket. The register comes in an attractive pink.

What your child develops

• Maths skills. Children add up purchases on the calculator.
• Imagination and creativity. A shop, café or market.
• Hand-eye coordination. Scanning and pressing buttons.
• Social skills. Shopkeeper and customer talk.

How to play

The customer fills the basket, the shopkeeper scans the items, totals them on the calculator and takes payment.

For older children, work out the change and hand it over in coins.
