About this product
Woopie Naval Battle is the classic strategy game parents remember from childhood. Two cases with boards and ships for two players at home and on the go.
This battleship board game is fun and builds logical thinking and strategy. Players sit facing each other and place their ships in their cases where the opponent cannot see. Ships go vertically or horizontally, not diagonally, and cannot be moved once placed. The first to sink all the opponent's ships wins. Each player has one five-mast, one four-mast, two three-mast and one two-mast ship, plus markers for hits and misses. The cases measure 15.5 × 11 cm. Designed for two players aged 4 and up.
What your child develops
- Logical thinking. Hits reveal where a ship might be.
- Strategy. Ships have to be placed so they are hard to find.
- Grid coordinates. Children learn to name squares by letter and number.
- Memory and focus. Players must remember where they have fired.
- Fair play. Hits must be answered honestly.
How to play
Each player places their ships in their case. Take turns calling a square, and the opponent answers ‘hit’ or ‘miss’. Mark the result with the pegs.
With younger children, start with fewer ships and help them name the squares. The cases are handy for travel.
